Owais Ahmed assigned additional charge as Special Secy in Planning Department

Srinagar, Oct 24: In a fresh administrative arrangement, the Jammu and Kashmir government has assigned additional charge to senior IAS officer Owais Ahmed.

According to an official order issued by the General Administration Department (GAD), Owais Ahmed, IAS (AGMUT:2014), currently serving as Director, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Kashmir, will also hold the charge of Special Secretary to the Government in the Planning, Development and Monitoring Department.

The order, issued under Government Order No. 1385-JK(GAD) of 2025 and dated October 24, 2025, states that the arrangement has been made “in the interest of administration” and will remain in effect until further orders.

The directive was issued by M. Raju, IAS, Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, General Administration Ddpartment, with the approval of the Lieutenant Governor. Copies of the order have been circulated to all key administrative offices, including the Financial Commissioners, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister, Additional Secretary (UT Division) in the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the Director General of Police, J&K.
