" At times when we are scheduled to get electricity from 5pm to 8pm in the evening, during these three hours we get only one hour of power supply. We are unaware of what happened to the tall claims of the government of better electricity this year," Nadeem Ahmad Khan, a social activist from Lilam in Vilgam told Greater Kashmir.

"Since most of the population in Ramhall cannot bear the expenses of buying an inverter, people either use lighting gas or candles in the evening to light up their homes. Despite paying Rs 1020 as electricity tariff every month we are still being pushed towards darkness," he added.

The students of the area are also anguished about severe power cuts in the entire Ramhall belt. "Absence of electricity was affecting our studies and depriving us from basic comfort.
