Over dozen trains short-terminated, short-originated
Jammu, Aug 17: Over a dozen trains have been short-terminated or short-originated following inundation of the Kathua-Budhi track and damage to the stretch, following rail-induced flash floods across Kathua district on Sunday.
“Due to heavy rains leading to track damage and water flowing above danger level through Br-43 between Kathua-Budhi and track damage, in the wake of this, temporarily up-line movement has been suspended till the water level subsides. Meanwhile, up trains are being moved via temporary single line through down line track,” Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Jammu (Railway) Division, Uchit Singhal said.
“Besides, a few trains have been short-terminated or have been made short-originated, including cancellation of local passenger trains,” he said.
As per details shared by the Jammu Railway Division, Train No 12355 (PNBE-JAT Archana Express) JCO Journey Commencement on (JCO) August 16, 2025, Train No 12237 (BSB-JAT Exp) JCO August 16, 2025, and Train No 19223 (SBIB-JAT Express) JCO August 16, 2025 have been short-terminated at PTKC.
It has been notified that Train No 12356 (JAT-PNBE Archana Express) JCO August 17, 2025, Train No 12238 (JAT-BSB Express) JCO August 17, 2025, and Train No 19226 (JAT-BGKT Express JCO August 17, 2025, have been short originated EX PTKC. Train No 18101 (TATA-JAT Express) JCO August 15, 2025, has been short-terminated at GSP, and ECR will go to ASR (Amritsar) and Train No 18102 (JAT-TATA Express) JCO August 18, 2025, will be short-originated EX ASR.
Earlier, the Railways announced short-termination and short-origination of five other trains.
“Due to heavy rainfall over the Jammu division, four trains have been short-terminated or short-originated. Train No 22431 Subedarganj-Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan JCO August 16, 2025 has been short-terminated at Jalandhar Cantonment and Train No 19803 Kota Jn-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra JCO August 16, 2025 has been short-terminated at Jalandhar Cantonment,” it said. “Train No. 19225 Bhagat Ki Kothi-Jammu Tawi JCO August 16, 2025, has been short-terminated at Pathankot; Train No 12331 Howrah Jn-Jammu Tawi JCO August 15, 2025, has been short-terminated at Jalandhar Cantonment, while 19224 Jammu Tawi-Sabarmati BG JCO August 17, 2025, will be short-terminated from Pathankot.”
