Kupwara, Sep 19: A medical camp was conducted at Primary Health Centre (PHC) Chiterkot under the Swasth Nari Sashakt Pariwar Abhiyan, benefitting more than 170 patients. Free medicines were distributed, and a range of diagnostic tests were carried out during the camp.

According to officials, 42 ABHA IDs were generated, 40 patients were screened under the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP), and 119 patients underwent Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) screening. The screening identified 3 new cases of hypertension and 2 new cases of diabetes.

In the maternal health section, 8 antenatal check-ups were conducted, including 2 first-time ANC and 6 follow-up ANC check-ups. Additionally, 107 patients were screened for anaemia, while 35 dropout children were covered under the immunisation programme. The Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) team covered 48 children, and 37 cases were registered under AB-PMJAY.

Block Medical Officer Tangdar Karnah informed that such medical camps will continue across health and wellness centres in the coming days, with the programme set to culminate on 2nd October 2025. He added that the initiative aims to take healthcare delivery to the doorsteps of people in far-flung areas of the block. Notably, in the past five months, around 10 medical camps have been successfully conducted in block Karnah, benefitting thousands of patients.
