Opposition leaders slam Lokpal after it floats tender to buy 7 BMW cars

New Delhi, Oct 22: The opposition on Wednesday hit out at anti-graft ombudsman Lokpal after it floated a tender to procure seven luxurious BMW cars, saying the guardians of integrity are chasing luxury over legitimacy.

The Congress took a dig at Lokpal over the tender, saying it is not Lokpal any longer and is more of a “shock pal” and “shauq pal”.

Speaking with PTI, Congress general secretary in-charge communications Jairam Ramesh said there was a false narrative created against the Manmohan Singh government with Anna Hazare, Arvind Kejriwal, ‘India Against Corruption’, and the RSS indulging in propaganda, and now the reality of the Lokpal is before the people.
