Opposing Article 370 “milking cow” for BJP to fetch political gains: J-K Congress chief
Srinagar, Nov 06: Jammu & Kashmir Congress chief Tariq Hameed Karra said on Wednesday that opposing Article 370 resolution has become a “milking cow” for BJP to fetch political gains. He said the uproar created by BJP members in the house over passing of Article 370 resolution is “unacceptable” for people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking to media persons, the J&K Congress chief Tariq Hameed Karra said BJP’s opposition on Article 370 resolution was against the behavior of a progressive society, which shouldn’t have been happened. He said we should keep this thing in mind that J&K has seen an elected government after a pause of ten years.
“Elections for J&K Legislative Assembly held here after a very long time. We should keep the aspiration and will of people in mind. The way BJP opposed the resolution is highly unacceptable for us,” Karra said.
He said J&K was part of federal India, but this structure was withdrawn in recent past and we want it to be restored along with all guarantees.
He said the resolution which was passed today by the house, reflects dialogue between Government of India and people of Jammu and Kashmir. “I think those opposed the resolution have not read it, or don’t understand it properly. Or they want to make it an issue, as it has become a milking cow for BJP to fetch political gains,” he said.
Karra continued that the resolution seeks restoration of federal structure of J&K which was snatched “unilaterally”, “arbitrarily”, “unconstitutionally”, and “undemocratically” from us. “The resolution reflects that the government should initiate dialogue between Government of India and people of J&K,” he added.
