Operation Sindoor shows India’s resolve against terrorism: Rajnath Singh

New Delhi, Dec 2: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday said Operation Sindoor demonstrated that India is fully capable of giving a “befitting reply to those who do not understand the language of peace and goodwill”.

He drew a parallel between India’s response to terrorism and the firm leadership of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who favoured dialogue but never hesitated to take decisive action,  as seen during the integration of Hyderabad with the Union of India.

Addressing a Sardar Sabha in Vadodara on December 2, 2025, as part of the ‘Unity March’ organised by Mera Yuva (MY) Bharat under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports to commemorate Sardar Patel’s 150th birth anniversary, the Defence Minister praised the Armed Forces for the successful execution of Operation Sindoor. He said the world now acknowledges the courage and capability of Indian soldiers.

“We are a peace-loving nation that does not provoke others, but if provoked, we do not spare those who cast an evil eye,” he said, adding that the operation sent a clear message about India’s commitment to protecting its sovereignty.

Rajnath Singh described Sardar Patel as a towering figure in the making of a united India and said his vision of ‘One India, Best India’ has been strengthened under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Citing the abrogation of Article 370, he said the decision ensured the full integration of Jammu & Kashmir with the national mainstream. He added that India, once surrounded by uncertainties, is today engaging with the world on its own terms. “The world now listens to India on global platforms. We are moving toward becoming a major economic and strategic power due to the strong foundation laid by Sardar Patel,” he said.
