Only one-way traffic from Jammu along Srinagar-Jammu National Highway tomorrow

No vehicles shall be allowed after the cut-off timing

Srinagar, March 03: Traffic authorities on Sunday said that only one-way traffic from Jammu towards Srinagar would be allowed along the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway tomorrow.

This, the authorities said is being done amid the single lane and poor surface of the road at Dalwas, Mehad-Cafeteria, Panthyal, Nachlana, Gangroo, Hingni, Kishtwari Pather etc.

They said that subject to fair weather and good road condition, only one way traffic from Jammu towards Srinagar shall be allowed on Jammu -Srinagar NHW.

Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs) shall be allowed from Nagrota (Jammu) from 0600 hrs to 1200 hrs., people are requested to be alert while traveling and be cautious of shooting stones and landslides and avoid travel if not necessary, they said.

Thereafter HMVs shall be allowed from Jakheni (Udhampur) towards Kashmir upto 1800 after assessment of road condition, they informed.

They further requested people to avoid travelling during the night hours as shooting stones are expected between Ramban and Banihal.

Traffic authorities further advised Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMVs) operators to desist from overloading and to carry sufficient fuel during the journey.

About the HMVs with only 06 and 10 tyres they said that they shall be allowed to ply through Dhar road.

Security forces were advised to not to ply against the advisory in view of possible traffic congestion because of narrow carriage way between Nashree and Banihal on Jammu-Srinagar NHW.

About the Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri (SSG ROAD), Mughal Road, Bhaderwah-Chamba Road, and Kishtwar- Sinthan- Anantnag NH-244, the officials said that these remain blocked due to snow accumulation.
