Ongoing construction of SDH Block Hazratbal, healthcare services at IMHANS-K reviewed
Srinagar, Apr 1: Administrative Secretary, Health & Medical Education Department Dr Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, today visited SDH Block Hazratbal to take stock of ongoing construction of the new upcoming SDH building and the partial damage caused by the recent rains to the existing structure.
He gave on spot directions to the Chief Engineer, R&B to expedite the work by taking up the matter with the concerned authorities for the construction permission and needful coordination on priority. He emphasised that SDH Hazratbal is a strategically placed health institution which caters to the medical and surgical emergencies 24X7.
He visited the health institution and discussed work area constraints and augmentation of manpower. On his visit, he inaugurated Jan Ashudi Generic Medical Store at SDH Block Hazratbal and appreciated the efforts of the administration for providing the patient friendly facilities beyond the standards of any UPHC.
Professor (Dr) S Mohammad Salim Khan, HoD Department of Community Medicine, GMC Srinagar alongwith Dr Fara Shafi, Block Medical Officer Hazratbal thanked Secretary Health and Medical Education for taking out time from his busy schedule to visit SDH Block Hazratbal at this time.
Meanwhile Secretary, Health also paid a surprise visit to the Government Psychiatric Diseases Hospital (IMHANS-K), Srinagar.
He took a round of the hospital along with the HoD Psychiatry, Professor Mohammed Maqbool Dar, Professor Arshad Hussien and Medical Superintendent, Dr Ajaz Ahmed Baba and visited various sections like the Crisis Management Area (Casualty), Wards, OPD, ECT, Chronic Wards, MRI and other units and reviewed the functioning.
The Secretary interacted with the faculty, resident doctors and the staff besides the patients and attendants and asked them regarding the status of patient care facilities available in the hospital. He also sought feedback from the patients and attendants regarding shortcomings, if any, in working of the hospital.
Dr Abid Rashid also reviewed the functioning of 24x7 Telemanas Counselling Center and was briefed about its functioning by Nodal Officer Telemanas, Professor Arshad Hussein.
