One dead, another critical in road accident at Noorbagh Srinagar

Srinagar, Feb 07: One person lost his life while another sustained critical injuries in a road traffic accident that occurred at Takanwari Noorbagh in Srinagar on Friday late night, officials said.

An official said they were identified as Faizan Ahmad Sheikh (25), resident of Narainbagh, Ganderbal, and Umer (24), also a resident of Narainbagh, Ganderbal.

Both had suffered serious head injuries in the accident and were shifted to JVC Hospital, Bemina, for treatment.

However, doctors later declared Faizan Ahmad Sheikh dead due to the severity of his injuries. The condition of the other injured, Umer, is stated to be critical and he is undergoing treatment, he said.

Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated further investigation. (KNC)
