One dead, 5 injured in separate road mishaps along Jammu-Srinagar NH

Srinagar, July 15: One person died while five others injured including two Amarnath pilgrims after their  vehicles met with an accident in two separate incidents along Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, officials said on Tuesday.

The officials said that one person died while three others injured after a car they were travelling in collided with a crane working inside Banihal-Qazigund-Navyug Tunnel.

The car was on way to Kashmir from Banihal, officials said.

The officials identified the dead as Tariq Ahmad, son of Abdul Aziz Wani, resident of Harbair, Kaskoot Banihl. He was employee of Health department.

However the injured have been shifted to sub-district hospital Banihal for treatment.

In another road mishap, two Amarnath pilgrims were injured after the bus they were travelling in met with an accident inside Kela Morh Tunnel in Ramban district on Tuesday.

The officials said that the accident occurred when a bus bearing registration number JK02DD-5141 carrying Amarnath pilgrims lost its control and collided with side iron ralling inside the Kela Morh Tunnel (T-1), resulting minor injuries to two pilgrims.

Meanwhile authorities have taken cognizance of both incidents.
