One CRPF man injured in ongoing gunfight in Khanyar

Srinagar, Nov 02: One Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) man has been injured in the ongoing gunfight between militants and security forces in Srinagar's Khanyar, reports said.

Earlier on Saturday, a gunfight broke out in old city after forces cordoned off the area following what they said were 'very specific inputs' about the presence of militants there.

Militants and forces are trading heavy fire, eyewitnesses told GK.

So far there is no report of any militant killed in the operation, however militants are trapped within the cordon circle.

In another firefight which is underway in south Kashmir's Anantnag, two militants have been killed even as the operation is on, officials said.
