Srinagar, Dec 4: An on-leave Army soldier was shot at and injured on Wednesday evening after his vehicle was attacked by terrorists in the Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
An official said that the Army soldier, identified as Dilhair Mushtaq, son of Mushtaq Ahmad Sofi from Sofi Gund, Tral, was attacked by terrorists while he was onboard in his car.

He said that the Army soldier received an injury in his right leg after terrorists fired multiple shots at him.
“Soon after the incident, he was picked from the spot and shifted to the nearby Sub District Hospital, Tral, for treatment,” an official said.
Block Medical Officer (BMO) Tral, Dr Zahoor told Greater Kashmir that the Army soldier was given treatment and his condition was stable.
“His right leg sustained injuries but he is stable. After he was given basic treatment, his attendants took him to the Army Hospital in Srinagar for further treatment,” he said.

Soon after the incident, the area was cordoned off by the joint forces of the Special Operation Group (SOG) of J&K Police, Army, and paramilitary CRPF to nab the attackers.
The attack comes a day after the encounter in Srinagar in which an 'A' category local LeT commander from Kulgam was killed by the security forces in the Dachigam encounter.
