On Fateha Khawani, hundreds express condolences with bereaved Kaloo, Mir families

Srinagar, Aug 12: People from different walks of life today participated in the Fateha Khawani of Naseema Akhtar, the sister of Ghulam Hassan Kaloo, Editor The Mirror Of Kashmir, Dr Farooq Ahmad Kaloo, Fayaz Ahmad Kaloo, Editor Greater Kashmir, and the mother of Mir Aijaz Ahmad, Editor Kashmir Canvas.

She passed away on Friday evening after a prolonged illness at SKIMS Soura. Hundreds of people from different walks of life participated in her Fateha Khawani at Hyderpora graveyard. Later, a condolence meeting was held at her Zabarwan Colony, Hyderpora residence, where, besides common people, leaders and representatives of various social, trade, political, religious organisations, and the journalist fraternity participated throughout the day.

The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President, Dr Farooq Abdullah visited the house of the bereaved family and extended his heartfelt condolences to Fayaz Ahmad Kaloo on the demise of his revered sister.

Dr Abdullah shared in the grief of the bereaved Kaloo and Mir families, extending his sympathies to Dr Farooq Ahmad Kaloo and Ghulam Hassan Kaloo as well as Mir Aijaz Ahmad.

Accompanied by party's Chief Spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq and Publicity Secretary Mir GM Saqi, Dr Abdullah offered Fatiha for the departed soul and prayed for strength and patience for the family during this difficult time.

Later in the day, MLA Lal Chowk Ahsan Pardesi and NC State Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar also visited the bereaved family to express their condolences and solidarity.

A delegation of Awami Itehad Party led by its Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi also visited the bereaved family and extended condolences to Fayaz Ahmad Kaloo.

Inam Un Nabi, on behalf of AIP President and MP Baramulla Er Rashid, conveyed a heartfelt condolence message expressing grief over the loss and solidarity with the bereaved family in this hour of mourning.

Speaking on the occasion, Inam Un Nabi said, “We stand with the Kaloo family in this moment of pain and pray to Almighty Allah to grant the departed soul the highest place in Jannah and give strength to the family to bear this irreparable loss.” Inam Un Nabi was accompanied by senior AIP leader Ajaz Yousuf

A delegation from the Group of Concerned Citizens (GCC) J&K visited the bereaved Kaloo and Mir families to offer condolences.

The delegation comprised Ghulam Jeelani Nehvi, former Commissioner Secretary, Khaliq-ul-Zaman Butt former Principal District and Sessions Judge, Naseem Lanker former Divisional Commissioner, Er Iftikhar Drabu, and Dr Zubair Saleem. They expressed deep sorrow over the loss and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul, and for strength and patience to the bereaved families.
