Srinagar, Mar 08: National Conference Vice-President Omar Abdullah Friday while hitting out at PDP said “not NC but situation has kept Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) out”.

Speaking to reporters in Srinagar, he said that NC will announce names of candidates for upcoming Parliamentary elections when it will suit the party.

“We (NC) didn’t out PDP, rather situation has kept them out. It is the duty of every constituent to maintain the sanctity of the alliance. NC alone cannot be made responsible,” Omar Abdullah told reporters.

Former J&K Chief Minister said that PDP is unfortunately targeting NC in their party programmes. “Be their speeches or social media posts they are continuously making NC a target. From the last two years the PDP on its raising day functions has been abusing NC in one way or the other. What does it mean … Zulm Ki Albaen Hatav, Qalam Dawat Ko Vote Do (Remove plough of repression, vote for pen & inkpot). Even they drag us into Pakistan elections citing 1987 rigging, and thus blaming us for the entire mess. They even make Dr. Farooq Abdullah a target,” Omar said.

He questioned how National Conference can leave south Kashmir for the PDP, which came third in the last Lok Sabha polls. “They (PDP) talk about alliance but target only NC in rallies and tweets," Omar added.
