Omar criticises Congress Government in Karnataka

Baramulla, Nov 14: National Conference (NC) Vice President and former chief minister Omar Abdullah Tuesday criticised the Congress government in Karnataka for its decision to ban head covers during recruitment exams, suggesting that such orders were specifically targeting Muslims.
Speaking on the sidelines of a worker's convention at Kunzar, Tangmarg in Gulmarg constituency, while expressing his disappointment, he said that such mandates should not dictate personal choices.
“Earlier when such orders were issued during the BJP government, it did not hurt us,” Omar said. “However, the disappointing thing is that the order has been issued when the Congress government is in power.”
