Omar, Altaf Bukhari, others visit Grand Mufti’s residence to offer condolences

Srinagar, Feb 3: Senior political leaders including National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah and Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari besides others today visited the residence of Grand Mufti of Jammu and Kashmir, Nasir-ul-Islam, here to offer their condolences on the demise of his mother.

Accorrding to a press release, Omar Abdullah visited the Shah Faisal colony Soura to commiserate with Mufti Azam Nasir Ul Islam Farooqi on the demise of his revered mother.

According to another press release, Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari, along with party’s General Secretary Rafi Ahmad Mir, on Saturday, visited the Soura residence of Mufti Azam, Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam to extend condolence over the passing of his mother.

During the condolence visit to the residence of Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam, Apni Party President was accompanied by the Party’s General Secretary Rafi Ahmad Mir.

On this occasion, while expressing his sympathies to the bereaved, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari Bukhari said that Apni party stands in solidarity with this family in this hour of grief. “May Almighty Allah rest the departed soul in eternal peace and shower His choicest blessings on her grave. May Almighty give the bereaved family members strength to bear the pain of this irreparable loss,” he prayed.

Meanwhile, All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC) Chairman, Jagmohan Singh Raina has expressed profound grief and sorrow over the demise of the mother of Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam Farooqi, Grand Mufti of Jammu and Kashmir. Raina has conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul.

In a condolence message the APSCC Chairman said that the deceased lady was very pious and upright. The deceased was the wife of Bashir-ud-din Farooqi, former Grand Mufti of Jammu and Kashmir.

Raina said that the entire Mufti family has always remained concerned about the safety and security of the minorities especially minority Sikh community. He said the family has always been at the forefront of fostering brotherhood and compassion among the people of Kashmir irrespective of the religion they belonged to.
