Omar Abdullah has personal not ideological differences with present BJP leadership: Sajad Lone

Srinagar, Apr 15: People’s Conference ( PC) President Sajad Gani Lone today said that National Conference (NC) Vice President Omar Abdullah has personal and not ideological differences with the present BJP leadership.

He was talking to media persons after some party function here. Prominent socio-political activists from Lolab and Kupwara constituencies joined PC during the functions.

“What is the difference between Vajpayee sahab and Modi Sahab. Did not Vajpayee sahab reject the pro- autonomy resolution passed by Jammu and Kashmir assembly? Did not Vajpayee sahab say that if BJP had the majority in parliament, it would abrogate the Article 370? Did not some major incidents occur during Vajpayee sahab and he did not take any action,” Lone said.

The People’s Conference President added that Omar has no ideological differences with BJP or Hindutva.” The difference is only personal. May be because Vajpayee sahab was giving him importance and Modi sahab is not giving him importance. And tomorrow if somebody else will give him importance, he will go with them,” Lone said.

He added that he does not want to speak bad about the NC Vice President since he is his political rival but it is also a fact that he (Omar) does not tell the truth and keeps on saying bad things about others and giving certificates.” In Delhi they (NC) say I am with Al-Barq group and in Kashmir they say I am with BJP. They are trying to create a confusion. I am myself confused with whom I am,” the PC President said.

He stated that since NC has ruled the J&K for long they have to answer for all that time and the present situation people are in. “I was a minister for three years only. But they ruled for decades together. Our Article 370 has gone, our statehood is gone, and assembly polls were not held for last five years. They are answerable for the present situation. They had three members in Parliament what did they do when Article 370 was abrogated? Now they are trying to seek votes saying they will get back the Article 370. Tell them to give the roadmap how they will get the Article 370 back. When their three MPs could do nothing when the Article 370 was abrogated and what can they do in future for its restoration,” Lone said.

He added that no NC candidate will win this time since people have decided to defeat them. “It is our turn to win,” the PC President said.

Asked about his party programme he said it includes trying to get more central government funds for agriculture, horticulture and tourism sectors besides a dignity for the people particularly youth of J&K.” The people here including youth must have the same dignified life as the people in other parts of the country. There should not be different set of rules for the people in other states and different for those in J&K. This culture of giving police certificates must not be there. J&K is the only part in the country or world that if anybody, anywhere and anytime has done anything wrong his whole family and relatives are punished. They do not get clearance for government jobs and other facilities. This injustice has to end,” Lone said.
