Omar Abdullah announces committee for regularisation of daily wagers in J&K

Jammu, Mar 11: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday announced the formation of a committee to develop a roadmap for the regularisation of daily wagers.

"I will issue orders to constitute a committee comprising the Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary, Secretary Planning, and Law Secretary as its members," Abdullah said while responding to budget discussions.

He added that the committee would prepare a roadmap within six months, which would be included in the next budget.

Addressing concerns about inflation, Abdullah dismissed claims that the budget would have a significant inflationary impact.

"Sajad Sahab said it will have a major inflationary impact, but it won’t," he said.

The Chief Minister also emphasized that the budget was realistic rather than pessimistic.
