Observance of foundation day of different states, UTs occasion to celebrate unity in diversity: LG

Srinagar, Nov 2: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Saturday said the observance of the foundation day of different states and union territories was an occasion to celebrate the unity in diversity of the country and to strengthen the fabric of traditionally existing emotional bonds between the people.

At the hosting of a cultural evening to commemorate the foundation day of Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Chandigarh, Puducherry, Delhi, Lakshadweep, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, which was celebrated on November 1 across the country, at the Raj Bhawan, the LG said, “The observance of the foundation day of different states and UTs is an occasion to celebrate the unity in diversity of our great nation and to strengthen the fabric of traditionally existing emotional bonds between the people.”

Addressing the gathering, the LG recalled the significant contribution of the great personalities from Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Chandigarh, Puducherry, Delhi, Lakshadweep, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi's commitment to promote the spirit of national integration through deeper and structured engagement among all states and UTs has strengthened cultural exchange and inspired mutual coordination with the spirit of ‘One India, Excellent India,’” he said.

The LG said that under the guidance of PM Modi, all the states and UTs had realised their true potential and were achieving new milestones across the diverse sectors.

Appreciating the artists for their enthralling performances, he said that the event today highlighted the rich heritage, culture, and tradition fostering a sense of common identity.

The LG also called upon the people, especially the youth to work with dedication towards building an inclusive and progressive society to realise the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
