Oasis Girls School students shine in Annual Sports Day at Bakshi Stadium
Srinagar, Oct 7: Persistent rain failed to dampen the spirit at Bakshi Stadium on Tuesday as Oasis Girls School, Gogji Bagh, held its Annual Sports Day, where students showcased resilience, teamwork and athletic skill before an enthusiastic crowd.
As per a statement issued on Tuesday, shifting the event to the premier Bakshi Stadium provided the girls with a fitting stage for their athletic prowess. The day was packed with diverse and exciting game events that saw spirited competition across the classes. The crowd cheered loudly as students participated in a variety of races and challenges:
Running Races: The classic sprints and long-distance runs showcased the girls' speed and endurance.
Cycle Race: A popular event where young students pedalled with determination around the track, adding a vibrant motion to the proceedings.
Rope Game (Tug-of-War): This event was a true test of teamwork and strength, generating roars of encouragement from the spectators.
Three-Leg Run: This hilarious and challenging event required perfect coordination and collaboration, emphasising the spirit of partnership and fun.
In addition to the track events, the students presented an array of colourful programmes and drills. These cultural interludes—a fusion of fitness and artistry—provided bright spots of entertainment, proving that the weather was no match for their preparation and energy.
