Nursing Association, PUCA welcome Nursing Council President in Punjab

Srinagar, Mar 3: Indian Nursing Council (INC) President, Dr T Dileep Kumar was welcomed by a joint delegation of Nursing Training Institute Association (NTIA) led by Gurdayal Singh Buttar and Punjab Unaided Colleges Association (PUCA) led by Dr. Anshu Kataria in Chandigarh. On the occasion Sarvajit Kaur Secretary INC and KS Bharti Joint Secretary, INC were also welcomed by the delegation.

Dr. Anshu Kataria, President, PUCA and Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges, Rajpura Near Chandigarh while welcoming the INC President mentioned that in Punjab, "we have enough infrastructure in the private colleges and the state is becoming destination not only for nursing but also technical students across nation as well."

Gurdayal Singh Buttar, President NTIA elaborated that the maximum strength of nursing trainees of our Punjab province from various courses like GNM, B.Sc. Nursing, M.Sc. Nursing goes to foreign countries and our "colleges face difficulties for adequate staff."

"Therefore in our nursing colleges in Punjab which are according to the guidelines of INC, the faculty student ratio should be 1:20 instead of 1:10. Also according to the instructions of the Indian Nursing Council, the experience of the principal should be reduced from 15 years to 10 years."

Buttar mentioned that all the nursing colleges of Punjab are committed to provide quality education as well as practical exposure to the students. "Not only this, the associations are working hard to strengthen the state more to provide Healthcare education and facilities."

The president, INC gave a patient hearing on this and assured of the best possible solution in the interest of nursing students and colleges of the country.
