Nowshera LoC explosion | Army pays tributes to soldier Wreath laying ceremony held at Rajouri
Rajouri, Jan 19: Indian Army Friday held a wreath-laying ceremony at Rajouri to offer tributes to the soldier, who lost his life in an explosion that took place on Line of Control (LoC) in Kalal forward area of Nowshera sector of the district.
The explosion took place on Thursday afternoon in which an army soldier (Agniveer) lost his life while two other army personnel sustained injuries.
“The explosion, probably caused by a landmine, took place at a forward location of Line of Control (LoC) in Kalal forward area of Nowshera sector of Rajouri district,” officials said.
On Friday, army officials said, a wreath laying ceremony was organised at Shradhanjali Sthal of 150 Army General Hospital Rajouri.
The ceremony was organised with full military honours on Friday where homage was paid to the fallen soldier Agniveer Ajay Kumar.
The solemn ceremony was attended by GOC 25 Infantry Division, officers of civil administration including Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Senior Superintendent of Police Rajouri.
After the ceremony, the army said that the mortal remains of the soldier were being sent to his hometown in Ludhiana of Punjab.
The Agniveer Ajay Kumar was a resident of village Ramgarh Sardaran of Ludhiana in Punjab. He is survived by his mother Manjit Kaur and sisters.
