Notorious drug peddler’s apple orchard attached in Handwara
Kupwara, Dec 27: Police on Wednesday attached immovable property of a notorious drug peddler at Audoora, Mawer, area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
The attached property includes 5.4 kanals of apple orchard land of the notorious drug peddler identified as Amir Ahmad Malik at his native village.
An official said that after proper investigation by Police in Handwara it has come to fore that the land was acquired from illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances by the owner, following which the immovable property was attached today.
Earlier in the day a police party headed by Station House Officer Qalamabad Inspector Imtiyaz Ahmad and Naib Tehsildar Qalamabad along with other revenue officials reached the spot and placed a notice there.
“As part of the operation, the apple orchards spanning over 5.4 kanal, under Khasra Number 14, belonging to the notorious drug peddler was attached under the stringent Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act”, an official privy to the process told Greater Kashmir.
