Notorious drug peddler held with contraband in Ganderbal: Police
Srinagar, Aug 19: Continuing its unwavering efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police on Monday arrested a notorious drug peddler along with contraband substance in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal.
A police spokesperson said that Ganderbal Police received information through reliable sources that one person namely Omer Fayaz Bhat S/O Fayaz Ahmad Bhat R/O Shaltang Srinagar who was working as Private Driver with SSB 03CC at Rakh Harran Forest Protection Unit Ganderbal has concealed Contraband Brown Sugar like Substance in a forest Hut at Rakh Harran with an intention to sell it to the local youth. Acting Swiftly on the directions of SSP Ganderbal, a special Police team was constituted led by SHO PS Ganderbal reached on the spot & during the search of the aforementioned hut, Contraband Brown Sugar like substance was recovered and seized in presence of Executive Magistrate 1st class & the accused was arrested.
He said a case under FIR No. 210/2024 under relevant sections of NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Ganderbal, while as further investigation has been taken up.
