Notorious criminal slapped with PSA: Police

Jammu, Aug 24: Police has detained and lodged in jail notorious criminal under the Jammu and Kashmir Public Safety Act (PSA) in Samba.

The accused identified as Sourav Slathia son of Ghar Singh resident of Garh Mandi, Gurha Slathia of tehsil Vijaypur in district Samba was posing a serious threat to public peace and tranquility, police said.

Following his repeated engagement in criminal activities, detention order was issued by the District Magistrate Samba based on detailed dossiers prepared by SSP Samba, police said.

Police team of Police Station Vijaypur headed by SHO PS Vijaypur successfully executed the warrant, leading to the incarceration of the said accused in District Jail Kathua.
