Noted writer, broadcaster Abdul Gani Sheikh laid to rest
Kargil, Aug 21: Noted writer and broadcaster Abdul Gani Sheikh, who passed away on Tuesday was laid to rest on Wednesday.
The writer who hailed from Leh, Ladakh, was laid to rest on Wednesday morning with hundreds of people from different walks of life participating in his funeral prayers.
Sheikh’s demise has been widely mourned across Ladakh and J&K.
His extensive body of work and dedication to cultural preservation left an indelible mark on the region.
Former Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages and former ADG Doordarshan, Rafeeq Masoodi said that Sheikh’s demise has left a big void in the literary circles of J&K and Ladakh.
“His absence in the art and culture circuit will be deeply felt. May his soul rest in eternal peace,” Masoodi said.
