Northern Commander Lt Gen Pratik Sharma visits Rajouri, Kishtwar

Rajouri, Aug 22: Army Commander Northern Command Lt Gen Pratik Sharma on Thursday visited formations and units in the hinterland areas of Rajouri and Kishtwar districts to review operational preparedness and compliment troops for their resilient action.

The visit came in the wake of the recent cloudburst at Chishoti, where Army personnel played a crucial role in executing swift and successful Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) operations.

The Army Commander lauded the timely efforts of troops in extending support to affected civilians and ensuring effective rescue measures.

During interactions with officers and jawans, Lt Gen Sharma commended all ranks for their unyielding commitment to maintain high morale and operational readiness, despite the challenging conditions in the region.

He also underscored the importance of sustained vigilance and continued peace efforts in the hinterland.

The Army Commander’s visit reaffirmed the Army’s dedication to safeguarding the region while extending unwavering support to the civil population during times of crisis.
