Northern Command chief reviews security situation in Kashmir
Srinagar, Mar 3: Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, Army Commander of Northern Command, on Tuesday chaired a high-level security review meeting in Srinagar to assess the evolving situation in Kashmir.
The meeting was convened to take stock of the prevailing security environment and to ensure coordinated preparedness across formations operating in the region.
Lt Gen Sharma flanked by GOC 15 Corps Lt Gen Prashant Srivastava engaged with senior formation commanders and representatives of sister security agencies to deliberate on operational readiness, intelligence coordination and measures required to maintain peace and stability.
Senior commanders from across Kashmir participated in the review through video conferencing.
Among those who attended were the General Officer Commanding (GOC) Kilo Force, GOC Victor Force, and the GOCs of the 28 Infantry Division and 20 Infantry Division.
The discussions focused on ground-level assessments, recent developments and the need for seamless inter-agency coordination.
Officials said the Army leadership emphasised maintaining a high state of alertness and operational synergy, particularly in view of the dynamic security scenario.
The importance of swift information sharing and calibrated responses to emerging challenges was also highlighted during the deliberations.
The review meeting comes amid heightened security vigilance across Kashmir, with forces maintaining close watch on developments and remaining prepared to respond to any contingency.
