Northern Army Commander reviews operational readiness in Kashmir

Srinagar, Jun 11: In a high-level visit aimed at assessing the security environment and preparedness in the Kashmir Valley, Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, Army Commander of the Northern Command visited formations and forward units of the strategically significant Chinar Corps.

The visit, spanning multiple forward locations, came amid heightened vigilance along the Line of Control (LoC) and in the hinterland as security forces maintain proactive operations against cross-border infiltration and internal threats. During the inspection, Lt Gen Sharma undertook a detailed review of the operational and logistics readiness of the deployed units. He was briefed by senior commanders of the Chinar Corps on ground-level deployments, terrain challenges, surveillance capabilities, and the ongoing counter-insurgency efforts. Lauding the integration of cutting-edge technologies in field operations, the Army Commander commended the troops and leadership for “innovative initiatives exemplifying synergy between technology and tenacity.”
