Srinagar, Jan 10: Lt Gen Pratik Sharma, Army Commander of the Northern Command has commended phenotypes for their efforts in integrating modern technology and its innovative application at the tactical level to enhance operational effectiveness and maintain a robust security posture.

Lt Gen Sharma said this while taking extensive tour to frontline formations and units deployed in North Kashmir to review their operational preparedness and assess the prevailing security situation in northern Kashmir. During the visit, accompanied GOC 15 Corps, Lt General Prashant Srivastava, the Army Commander undertook a comprehensive review of operational aspects along the Line of Control (LoC) and hinterland areas, focusing on counter-infiltration measures, troop deployment, logistics, and surveillance mechanisms. He was briefed by formation and unit commanders on the current security scenario, ongoing operations, and the challenges posed by terrain and weather conditions.

Lt Gen Sharma interacted extensively with officers, junior commissioned officers, and soldiers, lauding their high morale, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to duty under demanding operational conditions. He commended the troops for maintaining constant vigilance and operational readiness while ensuring peace and stability in valley.

A key highlight of the visit was the emphasis on technology integration at the tactical level. The Army Commander appreciated the innovative use of modern technologies by units, including advanced surveillance systems, drones, secure communication networks, and data-driven operational tools to enhance situational awareness and response capabilities. He noted that the effective integration of technology with traditional soldiering skills has significantly strengthened operational effectiveness on the ground.
