North Kashmir CRPF volleyball tournament concludes

Kupwara, Mar 10: A two-day volleyball tournament under the aegis of DIG, North Kashmir Ops Range (NKOR) CRPF concluded on Sunday. The tournament was played at 162 Battalion CRPF headquarters at Zangli Kupwara.

A total of nine teams from 3 Bn, 45 Bn, 53 Bn, 92 Bn, 98 Bn, 162 Bn, 176 Bn, 177 Bn and 179 Bn participated in the tournament.

The final match which was played between 45 Battalion and 3 Battalion of CRPF witnessed a mammoth gathering and ultimately 45 Battalion lifted the title after a scintillating display of talent.

Rajendra Singh Rawat, DIG, NKOR, Baramulla graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. He exhorted the troops to take part in various sporting activities to maintain sound health and sound mind amid the challenging duties being performed in Kashmir valley.

"CRPF has always been on the forefront for everlasting peace in Kashmir valley. We are looking forward to hold similar kind of tournaments for civil population after the culmination of Ramadan," he added. Commandants of all Units of north Kashmir were also present at the closing ceremony.

The occasion culminated with pomp and show in which the Officers and Jawans of 162 Battalion CRPF entertained the guests with patriotic songs, poems, lively music and popular regional dances.
