Noorani’s demise personal loss : Soz

Srinagar, Aug 30: Former Union Minister Prof Saifuddin Soz today said that A G Noorani’s demise is a great personal loss to him.

In a statement, he said, “ I had cultivated a personal relationship with this great man for over three decades.

” He added that Noorani was a great friend of the people of Kashmir. “An important chapter of recent history of Kashmir has come to a close.India’s one scholar who knew Kashmir history so thoroughly, without any equal, is no more. A G Noorani always stood with Kashmiris, most resolutely,” Soz said.

He added that when the government of India unconstitutionally dismissed and arrested the most popular leader of Jammu and Kashmir, Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah in 1953, Noorani used his powerful pen to denounce the Government. of India, unequivocally.
