Nominations Open for Padma Awards 2026

New Delhi, May 20: The Government of India has opened the nominations for the Padma Awards 2026, which will be announced on Republic Day, January 26, 2026. The last date to submit nominations is July 31, 2025. Nominations can be made only online through the Rashtriya Puraskar Portal at https://awards.gov.in.

The Padma Awards — Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri — are among the country’s highest civilian honours. They are given for outstanding work in various fields such as art, literature, education, sports, medicine, social work, science, public affairs, and trade. Any citizen of India can be nominated, and self-nominations are also allowed. However, government employees (except doctors and scientists) are not eligible.

The government has encouraged citizens to nominate deserving individuals, especially those from weaker sections, women, SCs, STs, and persons with disabilities, who have done exceptional work or served society selflessly. For details, visit https://padmaawards.gov.in or https://mha.gov.in.
