Nodal officer SVEEP J&K appeals to make exercise successful
Bhaderwah, July 21: In preparation for the upcoming Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has mandated a special summary revision of electoral rolls in the Union Territory.
Addressing a press conference here, Nodal officer SVEEP J&K, AkhterHussainQazi said that on the directions of Election Commission of India, Special Summary Revision will start on July 25 and will continue till August 9, as the pre-revision activities set to that started on June 25 will conclude on July 24.
“The revision of photo electoral rolls in Jammu and Kashmir is the fourth such exercise in the last two years and we are leaving no stone unturned to make it the most successful exercise in recent times,” said AkhterHussainQazi, Nodal officer SVEEP J&K.
“Beside modern gadgets and all the electronic modes of information, we have also engaged traditional methods like Ladi-Shah, NukadNatak, drum beating, banners and posters to motivate all eligible voters to get themselves enrolled so that they can also participate in the festival of democracy and use their franchise, which is the basic smesence of any democracy,” Qazi added appealing that all the stakeholders should go allout to reach each and every corner of the UT and provide them the opportunity to make their voter ID at their doorsteps.
