No up-movement of goods carriers from Jammu to Srinagar on Nov 1, 2
Ramban Oct 29: In view of the biannual Move of offices from Srinagar to Jammu scheduled for November 1 and 2, 2025, the Jammu and Kashmir Traffic Police have issued a traffic advisory restricting the movement of heavy and medium goods vehicles.
According to the advisory, no up-movement of goods carriers (heavy and medium goods vehicles) will be allowed from Jammu towards Srinagar on November 1 and 2.
However, Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs) will be permitted to ply from both directions—from Jammu to Srinagar and vice versa.
Furthermore, down-movement of heavy and medium motor vehicles from the Valley towards Jammu will be allowed in a regulated manner, taking into account the movement of Secretariat employees and transportation of official records from Srinagar to Jammu.
Goods carrier operators transporting fresh perishables or livestock have been advised to strictly adhere to the traffic advisory issued by the Traffic Police to ensure smooth vehicular movement during the relocation period.
