‘No sponsored element will be allowed to disturb peace, tranquility’

Srinagar, Jan 15: Director General of Police (DGP) Rashmi Ranjan Swain Monday warned that no sponsored element would be allowed to disturb peace and tranquillity in J&K.

A statement of J&K Police issued here quoted the DGP while speaking on the sidelines of his public grievance redressal programme as saying that as a responsible institution, J&K Police was committed to ensuring the safety of the people and at times, this requires taking strong measures against certain elements for the greater good of the public.

He said that J&K Police with full strength was behind the business community and it should continue to contribute to the economic development of the country by creating more employment avenues.

The grievance redressal programme was also attended by ADGP Law and Order Vijay Kumar, SSP Kupwara, CO IR 4th Bn, and other gazetted officers of different wings.

“Before the grievances redressal programme, the DGP and ADGP Law and Order laid wreaths at the martyrs’ memorial to pay homage to the martyrs,” the statement said.
