No major rain, snow forecast over J-K till Feb 24: MeT

Srinagar, Feb 12: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar on Thursday issued fresh weather advisory, stating no major rain or snow forecast over Jammu and Kashmir till February 24.

An official said that the weather will remain likely generally cloudy with possibility of light snow at isolated higher reaches on February 13.

From February 14-16, there will be generally dry weather till February 16 evening, with possibility of light snow at isolated higher reaches towards February 16 evening. While on February 17 the weather conditions likely be cloudy with light rain and snow at isolated places, he said.

The weather will likely remain dry and cloudy from February 18-24, official added.

The MeT advised travelers and transporters to confirm road and highway status from concerned traffic unit and follow advisories prior to planning a journey.

The department advised public dwelling in snow bound higher reaches not to venture in sloppy and avalanche prone areas for their safety.
