No let up in stray dog menace at Abi Guzar
Srinagar, Nov 15: Residents of Abi Guzar locality in the city’s commercial hub Lal Chowk here have expressed resentment over failure of SMC to check growing population of stray dogs in the area.
A group of aggrieved residents said that stray dogs chase commuters posing a risk to their lives. They said due to the presence of stray dogs, locals are unable to venture out of their homes especially in evenings and mornings. It becomes difficult for students, especially kids, to board school buses in the mornings due to the presence of stray dogs,” they said.
They said scores of stray dogs are present in multi-level parking at Abi Guzar. “These dogs chase people, especially students who board school vans in the parking lot. We make a fervent appeal to the SMC Commissioner to look into the matter and take measures to tackle the stray dog menace in the locality,” they added.
