No ‘full Darbar Move’ for Home Deptt offices

Jammu, Oct 30: In tandem with its Union Territory set-up, there will not be a ‘full Darbar Move’ to Jammu for all the offices under the Home Department even during this winter season.

While 39 offices, including the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, besides all other departments of the Civil Secretariat, will move to Jammu ‘in full’ and 47 departments will move ‘in camp’, all the subordinate offices of the Home Department will continue to function simultaneously at both Srinagar and Jammu.

Under the UT set-up, the Home Department directly comes under the Lieutenant Governor.

These (subordinate) offices will include Police Headquarters, J&K along with other associated offices; Prisons Headquarters, J&K; Directorate of Prosecution, J&K; Police Housing Corporation, J&K; Headquarters, Home Guards, Civil Defence and SDRF, J&K; Directorate of Fire and Emergency Services, J&K; Directorate of Forensic Science Laboratory, J&K; Directorate of Sainik Welfare Department, J&K and Directorate of Defence Labour Procurement, J&K.

“In view of the ensuing winter season 2025-26, it is hereby ordered that these subordinate offices of Home Department shall function simultaneously at both Srinagar and Jammu,” read the order issued by J&K Home Department, on behalf of the Lieutenant Governor.

LG Sinha has also directed the Heads of Departments to make equitable arrangements for the availability of officers and officials at both Srinagar and Jammu offices.
