Srinagar, Nov 15: The Nowgam accidental blast which resulted in death of nine and injuring 32 people has invited attention from all political leaders who demand a thorough probe into the incident.

Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary on Saturday demanded a high-level probe into the tragic blast which took place at Nowgam Police Station on Friday night, resulting in death of nine and injuring 32. Choudhary said the incident triggered widespread fear among residents after the massive blast broke in the area.

“The bang created panic among the residents of Nowgam and adjacent areas as well. We do not know how to describe this unfortunate incident,” he said.

He said the incident should be thoroughly probed by the concerned.

Senior BJP leader, Ravinder Raina also demanded an investigation into the incident and said that justice must be served to the victim families of the blast.

“It is heartbreaking to her about the loss of innocent lives. I came across the visuals and could realise how painful is for the families to lose their loved ones. The blast also injured several people as well. This was really an unfortunate incident,” Raina said. He expressed his condolences to the victim families and prayed for the recovery of injured people. “I urge the government to seriously probe this unfortunate incident. There should be no leniency in probe as at,” he said. National Conference MLA from Chanpora, Mushtaq Guroo said, “It is very unfortunate incident and must be probed,” Guroo said.

He said the government has announced ex-gratia for victims, but any amount cannot bring back the deceased to their families. “Loss of life is always painful,” he said.

He said the incident should be probed seriously as why the inspection was done during night hours. “They could have done it during day time,” he said.
