No armed attack on VC Kashmir University: Police
Srinagar, Nov 13: Srinagar police Wednesday said, they could not establish the armed attack on the Kashmir University Vice Chancellor near Zakura even when they factored in all possible circumstances, they said.
As per police, some reports claimed that the VC was attacked with firearms. However, they said, police teams who visited the spot did not find validating bullet marks.
"Entire area was thoroughly searched and nothing corroborating the alleged version was found," said a police spokesperson in an official communique.
They said, pedestrians and the nearby police checkpoint didn't hear any firing sounds, "except some rounds fired by VC's security personnel."
The report about attack on VC of Kashmir University last evening near Zakura could not be corroborated, factoring in all possible circumstances.
Police parties who visited the spot did not find corroboration of bullet marks .
