Srinagar, July 3: Nigeen Lake Conservation Organisation (NLCO) today decided to restore the dilapidated spring at Gadiyar area of Zadibal in Downtown.

NLCO Chairman Manzoor Wangnoo visited Gadiyar to meet with local residents and address the urgent issue of a dilapidated spring. He said the stagnant water and muck dumped in the waterbody have created significant health hazards for the community, with a pungent smell taking a toll on their well-being.

“Under NLCO's Mission Ehsaas, we are committed to restoring this choked spring and improving the living conditions for the residents. We urge the government to install a mini Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) and connect local drains to effectively address the root cause of this issue. The installation of an STP will provide much-needed relief to the people living around Zadibal,” Wangnoo said.

“Our efforts to restore this spring under Mission Ehsaas are part of our broader mission to enhance environmental sustainability. And we call upon the authorities to expedite the necessary measures to ensure the situation is addressed,” he said.
