NLCO begins restoration of Amda Kadal spring
Srinagar, Nov 30: In a significant environmental initiative, NLCO, in partnership with local residents, SMC, and LC&MA, launched the rejuvenation of Amda Kadal Spring, Lal Bazar.
Originally restored by NLCO in 2014, the spring had succumbed to neglect over the years. Today’s effort marked a new chapter as locals pledged to act as custodians of this vital water source.
Chairman NLCO, Manzoor Wangnoo, expressed gratitude to the administration for its unwavering support and highlighted the critical importance of addressing water crises through such efforts. He also extended special thanks to the students of Bilaliya Educational Institute for their enthusiastic participation, emphasizing the need to inspire youth to become eco-conscious citizens.
“Preserving natural assets is our duty to future generations,” said Shameem Shah, President of TAFI (JK), during the event. Dr. Tauseef Ahmad Bhat, President of Kashmir Concern, praised NLCO’s initiatives, reaffirming his support for such eco-restoration endeavors.
The rejuvenation, attended by community members, teachers, students, and stakeholders, reflects a unified commitment to safeguarding Kashmir’s natural resources. “Reclaiming Amda Kadal Spring is a testament to what collective efforts can achieve,” remarked Wangnoo.
This initiative signifies hope and action, ensuring that Kashmir’s natural heritage thrives for posterity.
