Lt Dr Nitika Kundan said that Raksha Bandhan, derived from the Sanskrit words “Raksha” (protection) and “Bandhan” (to tie), translates to “the tie or knot of protection.”

“The festival embodies the timeless love between brothers and sisters. The Rakhi, a symbol of love and duty, represents this cherished relationship. Soldiers, who protect with unwavering dedication, embody this spirit without the need for a Rakhi to be tied on their wrists,” she added.
