Nisar Naseem's collection of stage plays ‘Akh Pretch’ launched

Manasbal, May 3: Noted author and playwright Nisar Naseem’s book ‘Akh Pretch’ (A Riddle) was released at a literary function on Saturday, organised on the banks of famed Manasbal lake. The book was released by Member of Parliament, Mian Altaf Ahmad, in presence of several renowned poets and personalities from literary circles, at an impressive function here.

Prominent among others who were present include Prof Ismail Ashna , Syed Humayun Qaisar , Javaid Azhar,  Mohammad Amin Bhat , Sheikh Hanif, Shafiq Qureshi , Mohammad Altaf , Manzoor Ahmed Mir, Reshi Rashid,  Ghulam Mohi ud din Bhat,  Gulshan Badrani , Dr Ali Mohammad Nishtar , Bashir Ahmed Parray, Sajad Ahmed Parray and Noor Mohammad Wani.  Welcome address was delivered by Bashir Ahmed Parray and vote of thanks by Sajad Ahmed Parray. Paper readers were Gulshan Badrani and Ali Mohammad Nishtar.

The proceedings of the event were conducted by Rashid Nizami. Mian Altaf while praising the author said this collection of stage plays is a continuation of the legacy of a brilliant writer and broadcaster Kashmir has produced.

“Most often we feel that writing something is easy but in reality it is not. Writing is a big challenge for a writer and it should be appreciated and hailed, ” he said. Speakers termed Nisar Naseem as one of those broadcasters, who contributed towards reviving the drama culture in Kashmir. “The biggest quality of Naseem is that he has a deep observation of the society which he intelligently reflects in his dramas, ” the speakers added. The book release function was organised in collaboration with Manasbal Dramatics.
