Nine people injured after two vehicles collide near Air Strip in south Kashmir's Anantnag

'All the injured were evacuated to SDH Bijbehara, from where they were taken to GMC Anantnag for further treatment,' an official said.

Srinagar, Aug 04: At least nine passengers were injured after two vehicles collided along National Highway-44 near Bijbehara in south Kashmir's Anantnag district, reports said Sunday.

Quoting an official news agency GNS reported that two vehicles bearing registration number JK21C 8406 and JK16 0948 collided at Air Strip along Highway in Bijbehara this morning.

In the incident, nine persons suffered injuries, the official said and identified them as, Rumaisa, wife of Ishtiaq Ahmad Sheikh of Sonamarg, Abdul Qayoom Bairan son of Nazir Ahmed of Kangan, Azra daughter of Irshad Ahmad Sheikh of Kangan, Ishrat daughter of Reyaz Ahmad Sheikh of Kangan, Salreen wife of Nisar Ahmad Khan of Kangan, Ahkam son of Nisar Ahmad Khan of Kangan, Arhan son of Ishtiyaq Ahmad Khan of Kangan, Imad son of Ishtiyaq Ahmad Khan of Kangan and Usman son of Nisar Ahmad Khan of Kangan.

"All the injured were evacuated to SDH Bijbehara, from where they were taken to GMC Anantnag for further treatment," the official said.

A police official said that they have taken cognisance of the incident for further investigations.
