NH likely to be restored partially on Wednesday: Dr Jitendra

Jammu, Apr 22: Union Minister of State in PMO Dr Jitendra Singh Tuesday announced that Srinagar Jammu National Highway was likely to be restored partially by April 23.

He stated that he would visit the district headquarter Ramban on Wednesday to work out the further measures with the administration.

While appreciating the district administration for its all-out efforts to expedite restoration of essential services, the Union Minister also asserted that the relief operations were going on in full swing.

Taking to social media to share updated status about the ongoing relief and restoration operations in Ramban hit by landslides and flash floods, Dr Jitendra said 1486 Distribution Transformers (DTs) were restored.

“The relief operations are in full swing. Administration is doing its best despite the most unfavourable circumstances. DC Mr Baseer Choudhary is personally camping in the affected area,” he said.

Regarding efforts to restore water and power supply, the Union Minister said, “Electricity supply is being restored. Out of 1762 DTs, 1486 DTs have been restored and work on the remaining 286 DTs is going on. As for water supply, out of 98 Water Supply Schemes (WSSs), 89 schemes have been made functional and restoration work on the remaining nine schemes is going on.”

“National Highway is likely to be restored partially by tomorrow. I plan to be personally at the district headquarter Ramban tomorrow to work out the further measures with administration,” he said.
