Srinagar, Sep 02: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Srinagar on Tuesday predicted ‘heavy to very heavy’ rainfall in Jammu and Kashmir parts during upcoming 16 hours, which may trigger cloudbursts, flashfloods, landslides and water-logging at vulnerable spots in the region.

The IMD Srinagar in its updated weather advisory said, “A spell of HEAVY to VERY HEAVY rain is expected at many places over JAMMU, KATHUA, REASI, DODA UDHAMPUR, RAJOURI and RAMBAN during next 14-16 hrs”.

The advisory also forecast moderate to heavy rains at many places of Pir Panjal range and south Kashmir areas in next 16 hours.

“A spell of moderate to Hvy Rain/brief intense showers at many places of Pir Panjal range and South KMR with hvy rain over Kishtwar, Poonch, Anantnag, Shopian and Kulgam and during nxt 14-16 hrs,” advisory said.

It added, that there is a possibility of of cloud burst/flashfloods/landslides/water logging at few vulnerable places, and urged general public to stay alert and updated.
