New body of MFA GMC, GDC Srinagar elected

Srinagar, Nov 19: The Medical Faculty Association (MFA) of Government Medical College Srinagar and Government Dental College Srinagar today declared the results of its executive body elections for the session 2025-26. Well-known ophthalmologist, Dr Sajjad Bashir Khanday has been elected President of the Association.

According to the official notification issued by Returning Officer Prof. (Dr.) Junaid S. Wani, eight faculty members have been elected. For President, Dr. Sajad Bashir Khanday has been elected. He is Professor of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Riyaz Ahmad Lone, Associate Professor of Physiology, is the Vice President.

Dr. Syed Sajad Hussain, Associate Professor of Pharmacology is the General Secretary. Dr. Ashiq Hussain Parrey, Assistant Professor of Medicine is the

Joint Secretary. Dr. Nisar Ahmad Naikoo, Assistant Professor of Biochemistry is the

Treasurer.

In addition, Dr. Khurshid Ahmad Dar, Professor of Chest Medicine, is the

Professor Representative. Dr. Javed Ahmad Khan, Associate Professor of Anatomy and Dr. Junain Nabi, Associate Professor of Psychiatry, are the Associate Professor Representatives. For post of Assistant Professor Representative, Dr. Altaf Hussain Malik, Assistant Professor, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (GDC) has been elected.

The newly elected team has pledged to work for the welfare of the faculty and the overall development of the institution with dedication.
